An eight-day walking pilgrimage along the Camino Primitivo for leaders, entrepreneurs and exceptional individuals. Held by Cobus Visser and Tinolla Rodgers.
It is early morning in a forest in the north of Spain.
The light comes through the trees in long grey shafts,
and the only sound is your own footsteps on an old stone path.
There is mist in the valley below.
You have been walking for days,
and something you did not expect has begun to happen.
Step by step, the path is taking from you the very weight you did not know you were carrying.
This is what we are offering you.
Eight days walking the Camino Primitivo,
the oldest pilgrimage route to Santiago de Compostela,
the Original Way. Forests and mountains and small stone villages.
Long silent mornings, and real conversations by evening.
A teaching for each day.
A stone you carry and lay down. Two days for gentle integration.
And a growing, quiet certainty that life has been carrying you all along.

It is designed for
leaders, entrepreneurs, professionals and exceptional individuals
who are ready to step away from the noise,
pressure and expectations of everyday life.
Often they are moving through a season of
burnout, loss, transition, or the strange ache of having achieved
a great deal and lost themselves in the process.
They may be asking: What am I here for.
Who have I become.
What do I need to release.
What future do I want to create.
How do I become the leader my next chapter requires.
You do not need to be an experienced hiker, and you do not need your faith or your future worked out.
You only need to be willing to walk, to reflect,
and to let the path do its quiet work.
This pilgrimage is open to all seekers.
Faith and spirituality are a welcoming and important part of the journey,
held gently, for anyone searching for deeper meaning or a stronger connection with God.
Whether you come alone or with someone you love, this tribe has room for you.
This is not for someone who only wants a tourism or adventure experience,
who is unwilling to reflect, grow or be vulnerable,
or who expects the facilitators to fix their life.
The facilitators provide the guidance, questions, coaching and support.
Each pilgrim remains responsible for their own journey.
Lugo to Santiago de Compostela, along the Original Way. Each day carries a teaching, and the days have a rhythm.
Trust the Path
We set an intention and choose one area of life that needs movement.
Trust Your Body
Breathwork, body awareness, and gratitude for what the body has carried.
Trust Silence
A silent morning walk, meditation, prayer and journaling.
Trust Other People
Walking conversations, shared stories, and an evening community circle.
Trust Letting Go
We write a release letter and carry a stone that holds an old burden, then leave it along the path.
Trust Nature
Guided reflection and a personal life and leadership review from the high ground.
Trust Yourself Again
A letter from the future self, and a personal identity declaration.
Trust Life
Arrival in Santiago, a closing circle, a personal declaration, a witnessed commitment, and a shared meal. You receive a compass token to carry forward.
Woven throughout are silent mornings,
walking conversations, coaching,
shared meals and integration circles.
Then two final integration days to shape your plan,
and an eight-week journey home with reflection prompts,
accountability check-ins and 30, 60 and 90 day recommitment sessions.
Nature, Healing & Hospitality
Owner and Managing Director of African Monarch Journeys and Retreats in the Wild. With more than three decades as a hotelier in some of Africa's finest luxury wilderness lodges across Southern and East Africa, she has built her life around exceptional hospitality and a profound respect for the transformative power of the natural world.
When her late husband Dusty was diagnosed with two cancers, Tinolla walked one of the most challenging seasons of her life. It was a season that asked her to loosen her grip on what she could not control, to surrender, and to trust that she was being carried even when she could not see the way. Retreats in the Wild was born from that walk.
On pilgrimage she holds the healing power of nature and the walk itself, the environment in which transformation becomes possible. She brings reflection, gentle integration and the warmth of true hospitality — a safe and compassionate presence that helps every pilgrim carry the trust they find on the path back into everyday life.
She also guides pilgrims home to their own bodies. The heart beats, the lungs fill, the body mends itself while we sleep, and none of it waits for our permission or our understanding. When you can trust your own breath without managing it, you begin to trust the path in front of you.
Purpose, Courage & Inner Leadership
A Certified Speaking Professional, executive coach and certified master firewalking instructor, Cobus has facilitated transformational experiences for more than thirteen thousand people around the world.
His own turning point came on Kilimanjaro, a mountain he climbed believing he had no reason left to live, and came down having found one.
He is the author of Walking Through Fire and the Extraordinary You series, and has spent his life since that climb walking people through fire, through fear, and back to their God given purpose.
On this pilgrimage, Cobus holds the inner journey: the teaching, the fireside conversations, and the plan each guest carries home.
What the wild gives is hard to put into words.
So we will let the men who walked the Untamed Men circle speak for themselves.
These are their voices, in their own time, in their own words.
The wife of one of the March guests wrote to Tinolla afterwards. She said simply, "He came home different. Thank you."
Nine nights of accommodation along the Camino Primitivo, chosen for quiet and comfort.
All ground transfers, and luggage transport between stages, so you walk light.
Daily breakfasts and most meals, shared at long tables at the end of each day.
All facilitation, teaching and coaching on the path with Cobus and Tinolla.
Morning practice and evening circle every day of the walk.
Your pilgrim credential and the ritual materials carried for each stage.
A compass token to anchor the journey, given at the opening ceremony.
A workbook for the road, to hold what surfaces between Lugo and Santiago.
Full onboarding and support from the Retreats in the Wild team, from the moment you book to the day you depart.
Opening and closing ceremonies, a completion certificate, and integration into a tribe that keeps walking with you.

International flights, and transfers to Lugo or from Santiago.
Comprehensive travel insurance, mandatory for participation.
Some lunches, personal expenses, gratuities and anything outside the official programme.
“The Camino does not begin in Lugo. It begins the moment you decide to trust something larger than your plan.”
There are journeys we remember for the places we walked.
And there are journeys we remember for the person we came home to while we were walking.
A Pilgrimage to Trust is not simply eight days on an ancient path.
It is an invitation to lay down the weight you have been carrying,
to walk slower than you have in years,
and to remember the steady centre that has been within you all along.
If something in you has been longing to pause,
perhaps this is your moment to answer.
We would be honoured to welcome you as one of a
small tribe who will walk this road together.
The full ten day pilgrimage, with everything set out in the inclusions above,
is offered at the following rates per guest.

You do not have to see the whole journey. You only need the courage to take the next step.
Come and walk with us.
Not everyone is ready to book with just a few clicks.
